Injector Pump Tuning

I plan on taking my m1009 to the mountains occasionally. Will the naturally aspirated diesel have to be adjusted in the higher elevations? If so how do I go about doing this?

Also I know this may sound dumb but is there a way to make it blow black smoke? Just to get some pics of it with smoke poring out the both pipes? Any dangers to the engine by doing this?

Thanks,
Miles

When I took my m1009 thruogh colorado to New Mexico, I didn't adjust it. It usuall sits at about 800ft. On one steep pass it poured out black smoke. I accidently put it in neutral and it left a big thick cloud that stayed their for people to drive through. The only problem was I was slowing down the whole time.

A guy told me that if you turn the ip up, It doesn't get much faster, but people will flip you off because of all the smoke.

If I take it to the mountains (going from 4800ft to about 9500ft) what will i need to adjust to prevent engine damage and maintain decent power?

nothing.. you cant run a diesel too lean. but you can run it too rich and melt everything. If you don't have a pyro just leave it alone and take it a little slower.
