While driving home tonight my blazer justed died, all electrical was lost.
I have had problems with my heater fan motor statrting then stopping, when I turned the fan off and back on the engines died, all electrical was lost. No power to crank engine, nothing.
It was dark , I checked a couple fuses they did not look blown. This truck started and ran great until this. Any suggedtions????

Thanks for the offer, My girlfriend bailed me out , we used a two strap and she pulled me with her F150 4x4.It took a couple of miles before she got the hang of keeping tension on the rope. Took the back roads, pissed a lot of people behind us off, but made it home in the dark. Its hard to see with out any lights on the towed vechile.

well the junction block is on the fire wall where all the main power wires go and the battery posts are on top of the batteries. take them off and clean the posts and terminals with a wire brush or a terminal cleaner ( about 99 cents) and go from there. it sounds like ether the connection was lost or a fuseable link was blown (never seen one pop while just idling)

From all I've read , sounds like you are right, fuseable link has blown somewhere, I think I still need to replace that heater switch of motor, when I turned it on thats when the truck died.

Two words: fusible link.
I'd start with the blue one that comes off the alt!
And I agree that your fan motor or heater switch caused the fusible link to pop. I just replaced my fan motor with one from Napa for about $20.
Another reason to start with the fusible link coming off the driver's alt is that it is easy to find and test.;-)

Have not had much time to look it over, but I did find a short wire that was broken located at the junction box on the fire wall, this wire was only about 5" long, thin and was attached to the second bolt in fron the left to the junction box bellow it also connected to the 2nd nut on the left. could this be the problem? It runns between the top lg. junction box to the small lower junction box. I 'll take a picture tomorrow .
