If I want to be able to bypass the glowplugs, like to have the key on, truck not running, without the glowplugs cycling, would I extend the blue wire and put a switch in it?

You can put a switch in the middle of the blue wire to disable the glow plugs...

BUT.. ether is very bad to use in a 6.2 regardless. They dont like it at all.

If you really feel you need a starting aid, use Pure Silicone Spray... Much gentler on the engine, and is glow plugs safe.
