I have some brandy new military ones still in the box with the chain lead on them for $20. I don't have any mounting brackets though. Let me see if I can find a pic.

they attach to the back of the m816 for winching heavy loads. they act as an anchor so the truck dosn't get pulled backwards. what your talking about are wheel chocks which i could also use!!!!

With regard to the mounting brackets, I've owned a few wreckers and seen many more. I've never seen two wreckers with the exact same brackets that mount the field spades. In fact, the brackets look homemade to me. They are basically just studs welded to the top of the wrecker boom that secure the field spades. Perhaps, there is a kit about which I am unaware.

Back in the late 80's when I was working as a Military Maintenance Tech, we made the brackets out of scrap metal and welded it to the top of the boom.
This put the spades out of the way. I can't remember them ever being used.

The spade mountand a ball type socket and should be mounted just under the body at the rear corners, on the boom and should also been at the front frame rails of the truck, the spades if I remember correctly they are about 6 foot long with a ball type end and a " C" shaped blade on the other end !! When I was in USAR, Co. A 841St Eng Bn. 2nd PLT , the unit got enough of those spades for all 12 of the Dump Truck and those spades were for use on the Wrecker truck only !! What a waste of money !! Someone read the - 10 and the Unit TO&E wrong and they bought spades and my unit did not have a wrecker only HQ unit had the wreckers !!

whats the nj MTA??? i go to alot of shows but this is my first military truck, i have a 1965 B61 mack truck so i attend alot of old mack shows, i also have an 800hp cummins powered ford race truck so i attend alot of diesel truck events so im sure i will be attending this MTA event if i could get some more info and if it does not interfear with any other events. as for the mounting brackets, they are something i could fabricate. think thats the route i'm gong to go on the brackets, and the brackets i was refering to are the ones mounted to the frame, when you are using the field chocks. as for the field chocks im still looking for a source!!!

thanks!!!
