Picked up lot # 6052 today. She is a real beauty. I love the big Firestone tires. also took a few more pics before the camera filled up.

The demilled HMMWV is a sad sight.

I think your bridge plate on the tow vehicle needs revising though, more than a "09" there!

What is the purpose of the bridge plate. Our AF trucks didn't have them that I remember.

A previous post by NDT, he writes better than me:

"What is a bridge plate? Each truck is assigned a number that roughly translates into tons fully loaded. When crossing a military bridge, Bailey for example, the bridge will have a number posted on the approach to the bridge. If the truck's number is higher than the bridge, you are too heavy and will be turned away. You see these posted all over Europe even on regular roads. The letter "C" on the upper crescent of the plate indicates combination weight, like a tractor- trailer."

I meant that as a general question not specific to you. Your tow vehicle and trailer are sweet. I mean what are bridge plates used for on deuces and other MV's. I don't rememver that we used them on anything in the AF.
