Ok so my Deuce is not to far from being picked up, and needless to say I could be more ready but like having a baby I doubt I could ever be prepared. That being said I would like all you Deuce owners to pipe in on what I should be looking into buying for both the field and for the garage. At this time I cannot afford to buy a huge set so I need to know the tools I cannot go without.. Like a 8 ton jack, Duck Tape, JB Weld, 550 Cord, Bubblegum, etc.

I am looking for opinions on whats best, what i can leave, what I will need the most etc. Thanks for your help.

You want a tool list for ownership or pickup?

Both. I got an idea from some others on pick-up.. fluids, batteries, etc. You can add to that and the new list. I was told someone here (maybe Roger?) inspected all the trucks at this particular sale and that they were all runners.. I do not know if that meant then ran or I should have run from them:-D

Tie wraps and tie wire. Fuel additive. Battery filler jug with distilled water. Creeper. Pneumatic or battery operated grease gun. Good air gauge (Milton Brand). Spare bulbs, belts, and hoses. These are just a few off the top of my head. I think there are a few threads on what to take when you pick up your vehicle.

Gotta download the -10 manual from the resources and start with what is listed in the BII/AAL. That's the minimum for operator maintenance.

From there just get an old military maintenance common no 1 tool set and a large hoist. Should only set you back 10 or 15K.

A basic tool kit will get ALOT accomplished. Once you get into maint. of the truck, plan on a good set od 3/4 or 1" drive sockets.

For some odd reason I can NEVER get the resources button to work:?:

The old thread was great. The list seemed a bit much but I assume for people who go all the time that would be normal cover the bases type 1 each.

10 to 15K.. thats great, now just explain the need to my wife if i make it to Haspin and we are in business:-D

Oh, now you went and said the "W" word. It is your job to get WA (wife approval), not ours. I will just agree with your wife and throw you under the bus to make my life easier.
One tool I would highly recommend is the Budd Wheel socket, Houdel may still have some. You can PM him.

Yes throw me under the bus, I deserve it. but really thats almost another thread.. lets call it the -----How you broke it to your wife you bought a truck and now need tools.-----

Mines easy, I have begun taking the insurance and license off the jeep and will sell it or use it on the farm / or for 4 wheeling at Haspin. The deuce will be more expensive in parts but cheaper in the long run because i will not drive it anywhere near as much.

This is another excuse for me to buy tools. So thank you for all the information.
