I think I have posted this before, not sure. It is a picture of how I welded channel irons to the back of each support arm anchor on the bed of my wrecker. They are very handy when trying to put the travel support bars into the anchors by yourself. You just center the boom, then lower it enough so you can put the ends of the bars in place in the channels, then lower it while the channels guide the support bar eyes into the right location in the anchors to allow the pins to be slid into place. Saves a lot of time and fiddling around when soldier two is not available.

I want to add to my last post, nice truck!!! I, too hope it runs. Odds are it will. If you are like us, you will wonder what you did without it, and a lot we do is safer with it as opposed to lifting with a Payloader or backhoe in the past.

I love the wreckers. I own an M936A2. As crazy as this sounds, though, the wrecker is one of the worst vehicles with which to tow (unless you are towing with the M984 HEMTT wrecker...or possibly the MTVR wrecker). The M543/M62, M816 and M936 are not very efficient tow vehicles because they are way too heavy to really do any towing at any speed of consequence, although to be accuarate, I believe the manual suggests you limit your speed when towing anyway. That is not a problem when the tow vehicle weighs 37,000 pounds! Now, add the weight of the towed vehicle. Think how little top-end power a 5 ton has...now load that vehicle with approximately seven tons. Well, that will give you an idea about what it is like to drive a wrecker even when it is empty.
