Okay, I did several searches and I could not come up eith anything. Has anyone put a rearview mirror on their deuce? Have any PICs. I know there are military rearviews, but have not seen one in a deuce.

I'm assuming you mean inside mirror. I have a Ford Ranger mirror mounted on a simple homemade bracket screwed on to the stationary center windshield divider. The windshield buttons in cars are very hard and undrillable. My mirror is a mounted a bit lower than I'd like as it has to see thru a window in the hard top yet over the closed gate. It is very useful, though at times vibrates enough to blur the view(idle). A small mirror will do the job and be less of an fwd obstuction. Member D8dave gave me the idea. I'll add a pic if I can find one.

I had a deuce that came from GL with a rear view mirror. I have no idea if it was factory or installed by the unit or something. It fit nicely and was screwed to the center windshield post. I sold the truck but took the mirror out to put in my keeper deuce but haven't installed it yet.

I will say with the height of the deuce bed and the rather small rear window you couldn't see much out of it.

Does it just screw into a single hole or is there a bracket of some kind? I thought about just welding on a nut to the center windshield post, the just screw the mirror on.

It's mounted to a small bracket and attached to the windshield with two screws. If I think about it I'll take a pic tomorrow.

I did not bother with the bracket, I just drilled and tapped into the center frame and screwed the mirror post in.The mirror is handy for keeping a eye on passengers in the back

My 1952 M35 came with the mirror. Both the GL-742 manual and the TM-8022 show them and talk about them. I have no idea when they stopped being offered.

With the small window hard top, the mirror is pretty useless unless the tail gate is down by the way. The newer hard tops or soft tops have bigger windows, so you might be able to see further than the back of the bed. I look at is as a converstion piece more than a driving aid.

Thanks for the PIC, looks like what I want. I just have not seen any brackets for sale, does anyone have one for sale?

The truck I had that had the mirror was a '53. Was it just something offered on the older trucks?

How is the mirror really useful in a truck like this? You can't really see much unless it's very far behind you, and you can see it in the side mirrors then. I personally don't like them in a truck of any kind. I even took the one out of my Ramcharger because it is more of an annoyance than a driving aid and I don't need it for inspection.

You are right. On the one I had you really couldn't see much out of it. I only kept the mirror because it's kind of unusual and thought I might add it to my keeper as a conversation piece.
