Awesome site!!
I am looking to buy a m1009 i saw on the gl site from redstone arsenal, al. Can anyone give me some info on the process?
Nobody will return my calls or answer the phone there.
Is it a pretty straight forward transaction?
Can I go there the day of the auction to look and bid?
Any info will be greatly appreciated and from you guys experience what would be a decent price at an auction for one.
Thanks
James

All bidding is done online. You need a user name and password.

Yes you should go and look at the lots prior to bidding.

If you win an online auction your CC will be billed immediately.

Next you submit an EUC for a government background check and wait for approval.

If the government decides you are not a terrorist or an agent of a hostile foreign government then GL will send you a paid invoice.

Now you have a limited amount of time to pick up your prize or else it along with your funds will be forfeited.

Once you have picked up the beast you can either pay a title company to get the vehicle titled or you order an SF-97 from GL and wait 30 to 45 days.

Now the real fun begins......

Buying 1st m1009

thanks alot I am soooo excited about getting one, I plan to make it my daily driver.
So I submit the euc to gl.

What do they usually go for? Should I be ok with 1500- 2000.

Yes, GL will pass it on to the federal government.

Depends on the area. The last batch of M1009s I watched go out in MO, all went for no less than $2500 (or pretty darn close). Depends on the condition and how deep the pockets are of those that want the one you want. The ones I wanted in that last MO batch went for more than $3500.00. Needless to say I did not get one.

*BEWARE GL will most likely toss out your EUC request, they do not want you to submit one until you are the winning bidder and you receive a confirmation e-mail stating so. (I learned the hard way by attempting to submit early, trust me)

I just won my first about 10 days ago. I did mine without preview and realize it's like rolling the dice. I figured if this one isn't as good as I want, it can be my parts truck for the next one that I'll go into with more knowledge of the process. I just wanted to get my feet wet and get the ball rolling so I just went for it.

After the taxes and fee's I spent a hair over 2K for it. I submitted my EUC, made a revision the next day, and it's been at Battle Creek for about 10 days now. I'm hoping I'm one of the lucky ones that gets it back in a couple of weeks, but it's out of my control.
I was a little intimidated at first, but now that I've done it; I'm ready to get some more. The EUC's are much quicker after the first. Good luck with your quest and keep us informed.

Oh, I'll be on here as soon as I find out I assure you. And yes, the Tide Nation is represented well even over here in east GA too. We even have Welcome to the Augusta Alabama Alumni Website right here in Augusta. I have a 90 acre family homestead down in rural Marengo Co.(south of Demopolis, north of Thomasville). I'm working on moving down there as soon as I can swing it. I also have family around B'Ham(Vestavia Hills). But they're Auburn folks.

My EUC went through today. Got my paid in full invoice. Now I'm just trying to line up somebody to ride down with me to recover.
