Hey guys i got a question on my lifting supports. They slide out of the storage perfectly fine, and fold down. so thats all good to go. but when you turn the "collar" to turn down the leg and push against the ground for support it all just spins. Ive even tried to tie the feet off so they dont spin to break it loose but no good. What do i have to do to get the collar broke loose and free? if i need to get a pic of the part im talking about i will.

Thanks in advance for help if you guys can give it to me. I will be home in 3 days to try to work on it again

Got a pic? I am trying to picture what your talking about, but had a long day. The grey matter is on strike! Sounds like you might need to use a little blue tip wrench, but I want to see if I am picturing this right.

yea ill try to see if i can google a pic. or ill get you one in a couple days when i get home. but its the lift supports when you pull them out from the truck and swing them down. the little collar that you turn with the 4 holes in it 90* of each other. when i turn it the whole dang support turns. but let me google and see if i get a pic... i suck at descriptions.

or any members have pics of the lifting supports out and down on the military wreckers ill MS paint the part im talking about.

So the screw is stuck to the "bottom" foot part? The whole assembly turns? It is not stuck at the part it "hangs" from, that turns?

ok. im still looking for a better pic. and its the wrong truck but you should get a hint i hope (gosh i hate being 3000 miles from my truck). its circled in yellow. there is a collar about 4" tall that you turn to rotate your feet down against the ground for lifting support on the wrecker.

im still looking for a actual pic of one on a truck for better view. and info

I have heard that heating it up, and cooling it down helps break rust's "bonds". I would go pick up a gallon or 4 of some PB blaster and pour it in, let it sit for a week, and try turning the screw. If "no go", I would "tap" on them with a sledge hammer, try again, and finally heat it with a torch. They are not easy to get loose once siezed. You can take it off the truck by pulling the pin that allows it to turn right at the "knee". Grease the heck out of it once they are free!

Here's a pic of what your dealing with. Heat it and whack it and maybe the grease that should be in there will come loose. If not get some Kroil and soak it. Mine were stuck but not rusted, some Soldier B tightened them with a 10 foot breaker I think.
