Reducing the weight of the deuce

I recall seeing something about the actual scale weight of a deuce was just over 10K. Has anyone achieved this/confirmed this?

Need to find out if 13500 is the actual weight and is there anyway to get it to 10K and yet still be operational.

I've had mine across the scales and it was like 16K-................ it has the dump conversion, winch, etc. So it weighs more than the standard cargo.

I remember my deuce W/W, gun ring w cab plate, 1100 tires being about 16.5k. I don't think there is any good way to lighten the std deuce to 10k.

you could always pull the engine, trans and transfer case out, replace it with an aluminum 4 cylinder engine..that might do the trick.

I scaled my deuce without bows or cargo cover at 13,600lbs no winch and with a hardtop.

If you pulled the bed off, no spare, soft top, pull the outer tires, 10 gallons of fuel, one seat etc....

naw I don't think you gonna get close to 10k

My Deuce weighed on an Ag scale here in town, weighed about 12,550. That was without cab and canvas covers, no troop seats, no spare. Had to weigh it for registration.

replace the axels with GMC ones. remove the bed and install a fiberglass one,, install new alumnimum wheels and lowprofile tires. That should do it

I guess that negates the plan of de-dualling the rear axles...
