They finally called me back, and my two trucks are on site. Now just waiting on EUC approval.

I also just won two M109 and one M35a2 trucks at Shelby today. Maybe I can use one of them to tow my two Redestone deuces home. One of them starts and has good brake pedal pressure, the others probably need batteries at least.

I didn't think you could preview at redstone unless you had a military pass or had a paid invoice to get on the base. They quit coming to the gate to escort you in a long time ago.

I previewed them (this was Camp Shelby, not Redstone). Flipped the switch, and if the air buzzer worked, I got in and pushed the starter. Only 2 of the 10 or so I checked out actually started. Several didn't even buzz. At Shelby, you can only preview with an appointment, and the GL person (who is not at the base) wants you to only check out a few, not all of them, since the army personnel at the base have other jobs to do. You are escorted the entire time, and the guy with me (Tony) was really nice, but I still felt like I really had to rush.

Don't know if they will let you on the lot to preview but it's no problem getting on base. I've been to pick up and all they look at at the gate was DL, vehicle registration, and proof of ins. They didn't ask for invoice or anything, just asked where you were going.

I haven't tried to preview anything in several years. They used to make a big deal of it. Now, when I pull up at the gate, I tell them I am here to pick up something form GL and they always ask me for my invoice. It does very from trip to trip. Some just go through the motions and some look in every box and get the mirrors out and look under the truck, pop the hood and look everywhere else. If it ever gets as bad as getting on a plane, I will stop buying stuff.

They sure have spent enough money on their gates. It would be just like our government that after spending all that money and just when it is about finished they go back to the way it was.

Yeah Buckly AFB is the same way, just D/L, Reg, and Insur. Once in a great while they break out the mirrors and such. Depens on who's on base. If the President Obomer is on site good luck. Your arse isnt gettin near the fence unless you have the tags on your windshield. But I have been thinkin about shipping but dayum. for 400 miles and is 600 bux. Imma go broke and debt if I buy and ship. Unless some great person is willin to drive it from Bama to Denver for half the price I get quoted for, and buy them a plane ticket home. Ive often wondered if the trucks in Bama would be worth a darn. But then again I cant preview them either. Bein in Denver and all... So when im ready to buy would someone be willing to check out the lot for me and tell me of the lot im lookin at is worth the pennies my broke butt is goin to spend? Ok im done haha the Coors is talkin now.

When I go I'm always in a commercial vehicle so I have to use the commercial gate ( don't remember the gate number). Don't know if security is different over there or not but I've been several times and they haven't asked for invoice.

You're right about it depending on who's working the gate and how busy they are. They are working on the commercial gate and have a temp. building to pass through on the side. Last time I was there trucks were backed up all the way down the road and the gaurds were getting behind. They were running them through without checking hardly anything.

I just received notification on the 4 deuces I purchased a little over a month ago. If anyone tells you GL has no authority with Battle Creek, and you believe them, I have some nice land in Florida for sale. I had requested a refund on sale 4991 after the 60 days had passed, and they emailed me yesterday saying they would cancel the sale and do the refund. Today, viola, my remaining EUCs cleared. I called to set up an appointment with Theresa, but she had already left for the day, and they told me to call back in the AM. Anyway, as soon as I find out my time and day, I will post it.
I'm hoping I can find 3 buddies out there who would be willing to drive a deuce for about 2 hours. When we get back to my place here in Ohatchee, Alabama, I'll throw some steaks (Tenderloin) on the grill and put 50 bucks in your pocket before taking you back to wherever we decide to meet for the roadtrip. You can also see the caveman-style shop I have going out here among the trees.
