Deuce Mudflaps

I removed my mudflaps to replace the bed, and I really like the rear without them, especially with the singled out hubs.
Has anyone else removed them and not re-installed them?

I am still re-building the rear, and have to paint, so I haven't put them back on yet. Can't decide whether they should go back.
The fronts look fine and save the fuel tank and pioneer tools from road debris and tire spray, but I don't like the way the truck looks with the singles and the tremnedously wide rear flaps.

Was there a WMO, that shortened the flap or replaced the larger ones with more narrow ones to use with the singles?

someone following U in a rain will certainly wish U had them on, and U may be in for a ticket also, now i only had the mettle for a few years, and have had complaints about the additional spray, when i put the flap back it reall does work, as for none at all, no steel skist and no rubber flap that is just unfair to those who ride behind U...and illegal...Randy

Not just in the rain, gotta think about the rocks that get picked up and hurled behind you....

Would you really want to follow a slow moving truck thats throwing debris at you?

I had to replace the original mud flaps with much longer ones to pass a safety check as the original ones were way too short.

I suggest putting them back on as you could not only get a ticket, but also in trouble if you cause damage to another vehicle on the road from a flying rock or something.

Better safe then sorry.

I didn't see anything said about NOT putting them back on. He was asking about smaller ones for single tires. It's MWO and none that I know of. Wayne

I figured the tires would throw a lot of debris out the back, and I'm not concerned with the summons as much as I am with the insurance claim on damage from the thrown debris.
I really was hoping that there was a narrower GI modification that made the truck look as robust with the singles as it did with the duals.

I'm sure I can make a mod, but there is just something about using a real GI part as opposed to fabricating up something from one. If ten different units chose to make this modification, you would see ten different designs.

I have had so many windshields busted out from trucks throwing rocks, including the cracked one in my Yukon right now.

Please consider this:

It is just good manners to protect others on the road from any hazards you might create. -and- Bad manners to not consider others you share the road with.

I ride a motorcycle most of the time for my daily ride. Imagine what a rock to the face or face shield would be like.

Please run flaps. Legal and safer for others.

I've seen rocks as big a bowling balls get hung between the duals and come out when up to speed. You won't have to worry about that with singles though.

In illinois, where I'm originally from, road debris isn't something that big trucks are liable for, only something that comes off of their truck from the load itself...

just giving you more info.

I haven't seen one, but I think that if you cut away the material outside of the reinforcement rib on the metal part and trim the rubber to match it would look "right"

Well, the truck is all painted!
I will be stenciling the sides on Monday, and re-installing the mudflaps. Fortunately, I have an extra set of flaps from the old bed I replaced, so I will have to experiment on cutting them down to a more narrow profile to fit the singles.
