Hello everyone.

Well I was bitten pretty hard by the deuce bug. I just bought 2 at the GL sale here at fort Jackson Sc. Not sure what I was thinking but I think something from this site infected my computer.. I jsut kept bidding!!!

I am excited to get working on them and get them going. I know its a crap shoot with these things, so I hope I did my homework right!

Just wanted to say hello and say thanks for the great site.

But I will say, a warning should be on the front page of this site stating:

**WARNING by browsing this site you will end up with a military vehicle.. continue at your own risk!!!**

Looking forward to reading more and hopefully meeting a few of you guys.

Yeah I hear you bud. I also picked up 2 deuces today, but overpaid way too much. They are cherry trucks, but I got pissed at the guy who was sniping and kept extending the auction. He drove them up $1500 in the course of 10 minutes. I sure miss the old days where if you didn't bid in time you were out of luck.

I wish the auction time was shorter. I don't like investing 3 days following the auction only to lose out in the last 5 minutes. I never seem to be around the computer at 4:30. Might be a good thing though.

Same thing happened to me as well. I bid on 4 of these things only to find out GL has a nifty 15 min rule. Same crap that goes on on gunbroker.com. I have missed so many good deals because of the 15 min rule.

I would bid and another 15 min was added. If they didn't have the 15 min rule I would have gotten these for a lot cheaper. I miss the old auctions too. I think it is the way to do it. Of course it makes them more money the other way

Shame on you for not displaying pictures earlier. SHould have know the photo nazi's would get you.

Welcome to the site. Find the thread about VINs by CARNAC and find out the history of your vehicle. Will note that I don't normally see Jerry Can mounts on a deuce on the fender. Usually see them on the running board. What year and who makes yours ?

it has a herc 465 in it,

the other deuce is

any insight on info you may have on these is great and much appreciated. Good and bad is welcome.

2nd truck is GREAT! I had to leave my computer @ 4pm today.....I was going to buy all 3 "new camo" ones in SC....they looked exceptional. I knew if I was home I could not resist.

I am glad someone here got one of them!

GREAT BUY!

If you look at the auction photos carefully, you will see they were ALL running when the photos were taken. Most had 1/2 to 3/4 full fuel tanks (if the gauges are right!). Even the trucks that looked rough had new parts under the hood or in the cab. A few had new steering wheels and columns. Personally, ( judging by the photos only ) I think a few of the rough looking ones were in better mechanical shape than the pretty camo'ed ones. Hard to tell for sure from looking at a screen, but I have a pretty good track record for picking nice trucks.

Ian,
I talked to the guy who is in charge of putting the pictures and descriptions up. He told me if the A2 in the picture didn't have any trucks around it ( parked right next to it), then that meant he personally fired them up and moved them for the picture.

Not a sure thing but it sure helps when buying them. That is what I went off of.

I agree about the condition of the older

here are the pics of the older A2 I bought.. I thought it looked pretty clean
