Clackidy Clack?

There is an air valve or something under the hood of my Duce that makes the above noise. It mostly does it every once in awhile, but sometimes goes at it pretty good. Clackidy clack, clackidy clack. This describes the sound perfectly.
Is this normal? I do have a small air leak that I need to fix.

What is making that noise?

Thanks.

Sounds like the govenor/unloader on the air compressor

Mine did that for awhile, I sprayed some WD-40 in there, and it would quiet down for a good long time. I finally swapped it out.

Without seeing which section this was in, I thought someone had themselves a tracked vehicle... or a tracked deuce. Guess not.

Could be a valve on the air compressor, I know my electric shop compressor does that. However, this probably won't apply to a deuce.

I like that sound..... After I use the brakes or other air-consuming device, I can hear the click of the governor closing the unloader line to the compressor, and a few seconds later, I hear the click of it opening when the tanks are topped off. I think of it as a non-visual indication that my air system is working properly..... If I ever don't hear the usual sounds it's time to watch the gauge closely.

Some air tool oil in the "to the governor from the dry tank" line once in a while ain't a bad idea.....

Well, it is supposed to do it every so often,

But when it goes non stop, then oil it or replace it.

mine was doing it almost constantly...
