Can anyone tell me why when I am doing a brake adjustment on the winch truck. Why is the upper adjustment when turning the proper direction just keeps turning 360 degrees and the shoe does not make contact with the drum. The shoe is not slipping off of the adjuster I know that for sure.

I had one do that on the truck we just worked on. I think the shoe is worn to the point it won't adjust. We just made sure we had it at its highest point and let it go. It seems to have good brakes.

There is minor and major adjustment procedures to perform on deuce brakes. It involves adjusting the bottom adjusters also. I believe it is in tech manual TM9-2320-209-34-2-1. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Bob C.

Is this problem in one drum or all? You say they are new, how do you know this? I hate to sound like I am questioning YOU, just the place you got them from. How thick is the pads? I might have some cams if you need some.

I bought the drums new myself. It only is on 2 axles. One on each axle. The linings were used but in real good shape. It only happened after they were in the shop. The wheel and grease seals were also replaced. I take it to the shop because I am a Cancer patient and can not do it myself.

If the brake shoe retaining hardware is incorrectly assembled, the top adjustment cam, will not touch the shoe. Maybe this is your problem?
