Worlds largest civilian move of tactical Military vehicles.

GRAB YOUR TOW BARS, CHAINS, TOOLS AND CRANKUP YOUR STEEL SOLDIERS. They have sat in your front yards long enough. Warrior- Patriot Resources would like to invite all steel soldiers to Camp Shelby in Hattiesburg, Ms on Wed 27,2009. We would like all to attend the first ever civilian move of what might be the largest privately owned military trucks in the United States. Warrior- Patriot will have eight 800 series trucks with the New Tote systems engineered by Jim Gasto moving these trucks with ease. If you do not have a steel soldier yet we still invite you to come and join us. We may have a vehicle you can use. Your wife tells you that you bought that ugly truck and it just sits there. Well here’s your chance to show her why you bought it. So the fun will begin at 07:00 am(at 06:45 for the Marines out there) on the 27 of May 2009 at the Warrior Patriot yard located at U.S Hwy 49 South and South Gate Rd beside the Dru’s Motel. Don’t be left out of this historical event. Warrior-Patriot will provide a 501 (C) 3 for your help. We don’t want any of you guy’s getting hit with the frying pan. Your wife will be happy you got a Tax deduction and you will get to play with your toy. You can’t beat that with a stick!!! See you there. Any questions call William Wahrmund Director of Operations and Logistics @ 214-596-8856 or email me @ william@wpr3.org. Watch for other postings from my colleague’s.

NDT: Wreckerman will be there ... he's out there tonight polishing up his beloved M816.

Timntrucks: Good point about Wed, but we just couldn't lobby GL to open up on Saturday and Sunday. They judge our operations will require at least a week' to ten days worth of 18 hour days moving their nearly 300 tactical vehicles. That's why we need you. Hoping the retired guys and any others who can take off early to come joiin us ...guys like you can come on down on Friday or Saturday and help us triage and turn the cranks.

We expect this to be a national day for telling the nation what it is all you guys do this for. Since we (SS and you) will be on national TV, we especially need the best looking guys (and their "A" class trucks) front and center. Or as Wreckerman likes to say, Dress right Dress. CNN and ABC are intrigued and say they'll be there ... we wait to see. They seem anxious to shake hands with the Big Marine and Wreckerman for being able to pull this off. As these two say so often, the main thing is it's alll about protecting, preserving and honoring our combat warriors.

Wrench Wench: The eight (it's really 12) are only the pull trucks ... they will be convoying, lights and all, to pull the nearly 300. Let's see that's about 23 convoy trips in three days for each of 12 pull trucks with the special Gesto designed mini-wrecker. (Jim will be there with a show speical, if any of you ever thiink you might need more than a tow-bar to 'tow' your deuce or 5 ton.). 12 trucks, each in a one hour turnaround. That's cannon balling WWII sytle ... or it's the likes of a Storming Norman end around ... which ever you prefer.

Tim: Yeah ... we all who are in charge agree ... it doesn't look unlike a bunch of dummies. But for the fact of the the other combat wounded ... those whose lives were bettered by these soldiers of steel.

As we are all taught to remember ... it was all who gave some ... but it was some who gave all.

Need 'tent' space ... 214.906.9117 .... jtf@WPR3.org ...

Semper Fi to those of Steel ... and to those of His creation.

Hmmm...I might be willing to help...(my mission allowing), but need more info first. What is the mission of this 501c3? I have a couple of Landolls...can haul 2 trucks at a time (except the 816's.
Convince me to help.

I trust Wreckerman (except with cookies) but I don't know you fellers...

I aint gonna help anyone fill their pockets at my expense...but i will try to help with anything or anyone with Veterans at heart.

Like I said above...what's the mission? Our group has 501c3 status as well.

Since this a GL related operation it must be the move of all the scrap trucks that where sold recently. I wonder where they are going?

Remember the "Big Hattiesburg Lots", there is a thread on this, one buyer bought like 5 or 6 lots of 30ea 5 tons from GL's Melita Littlefield, now we know who the mystery buyer is. These trucks (all 800 series) were once intended to be rebuilt, when the purge order came down to get rid of all 800 series. This is speculation, but I guess Wounded Warriors bought the trucks to support their charter as a IRS chapter 501 C 3 tax exempt charitable organization. If I remember Wreckerman's report, they will be fixing the trucks to carry out charitable work nationwide.

In the future, I hope that charities realize they are eligible to receive federal excess directly from the government, and not have to pay commercial prices on GL . . . This is a simple matter of contacting your state surplus agency and filing the required paperwork. The only string is the org has to use the equipment for 18 months before selling it.

Hey folks....I have been out of the net for a day or two.

I am preping a press release that will be sent to local and national media. We are also working with Camp Shelby Public Affairs to make sure we get maximum coverage for our move. I will post a copy of it when I start faxing and emailing it to the media.

Make no mistake about it....this is a huge exercise in logistics...we are using military style planning and execution to make it safe and successful.

There are hundreds of "wounded steel soldiers" at Sheby that were saved from the scrapper by Warrior-Patriot-Resources. They are sincere in their support for Wounded Warriors and they are backed by some very good folks who wish to remain in the background.

Many of these vehicles will see new life as emergency response vehicles or parade and museum pieces.

We will also sell some of them to help pay for WPR overhead......we are a non-profit but still have expenses.

I will be at Camp Shelby Tuesday thru Friday to work with everybody that can make it to assist us.

We realize that this is short notice but as you all know we have to work with GL and the base on their time line......if you have made a recovery from GL you know the routine.

Any assistance from Steelsoldier members will be appreciated.

Thanks from Wreckerman and all the WPR staff.

Here is the press release that will be sent to national and local media outlets.

Press Release Press Release Press Release
All members of the media are invited to the >>>>>
Warrior-Patriot Resources Training Center & Tactical Vehicle Staging Depot
on Friday, May 29th , 2009, at 7:30 AM (WPR Depot located just South of Hattiesburg, Ms, and North of Gulfport, Ms, on Hwy 49 South, at Southgate Rd, adjacent to the Dru’s Inn, outside the entrance to Camp Shelby, Mississippi) to witness the continuing of one of the largest moves of military vehicles ever by a private civilian organization.
These vehicles, used in peacetime and war for the last fifty years, are being saved from the scrap yard by the efforts of Warrior-Patriot Resources, its sponsors and patriots in the military and those retired.
WPR seeks greater involvement in non-profit veterans organizations, combat injured warrior benefits and job acquisition endeavors through these acquisitions. WPR has its principal office in Dallas, Texas. The WPR primary mission is to assist Combat Injured Warriors by providing meaningful transitions, training and employment. Such includes restoration and refurbishment of vehicles, insurance risk management, services to professionals and other soon to be implemented entrepreneurial vocational activities.
Many of the vehicles will be refurbished into Emergency Response Vehicles for National and Local emergencies, provided to veterans’ organizations and museums and otherwise deployed.
The present movement of nearly 300 vehicles, from some 16 states, covering over 15 acres of storage depots, includes tactical trucks, trailers and equipment. Such a coast to coast scope of operations requires using precise military planning, logistics and convoy operational doctrines. WPR is being coordinated and directed by former members of the US Army, US Marines and US Navy, etc.
The planners, drivers, safety personnel and others involved are veterans themselves. Many are volunteers and all have close ties to the military through associates and families. The whole country owes a debt of gratitude to these outside volunteers who do other things, but are assembling to do their work out of patriotic devotion to duty to assist their deployed and deploying Brothers-in Arms.
For more information contact Richard Evans, WPR Public Affairs Officer at 256.557.1146 or William Wahrmund, WPR Logistics & Operations Director, at 214.596.8856 or Corporate at 214.906.9117.
