Check the Resources page. There's a TM with how to do the 3 color camo. Gillespie Coatings have the right colors and you can get all of them from RAPCO. 383 Green is the base and what's inside the passenger and engine compartments.

what is the name of the green brown and black?
Also how do you paint the camo pattern? is it actually taped off to leave sharp edges, or is it like free handed? im confused:?: i painted my van flat black a couple months ago and it turned out surprisingly good for my first time and painting it in my drive way lol

But as soon as you enter the 3 tone game i get discouraged. Obviously its a green base and the brown and black are added on top im just not sure how to do them w.o have very sharp edges or oversprayed edges.

Search here as there are many answers. Overspray edges.

There is a good write up by an experienced member (sorry don't remember the name but I do remember the technique) that talks about masking so there are sharp edges when painting with a paint gun then going over the edges with an air brush to soften them up.

I believe the official technique is to paint the whole vehicle with the 383 green then draw the outlines for the brown in chalk and then apply the black in the same method. The military wouldn't airbrush anything to soften it up they just go 100mph to get it done

The tape/airbrush method was just one way of accomplishing the soft edged spray pattern (the military "preferred" method of painting) for a privately owned vehicle if you don't have a sprayer with a fine enough nozzle. Looks good.
If you have a good airgun, you can spray the pattern freehand, or you can do the same with spray cans.
The attached link shows how Sarge did it.

Do a search for an M820 that Sarge repainted. He did a fantastic job and gives step by step instructions on how to get the right look with 3 color camo. Lots of pictures too!
