The M35A2 has a license plate, insurance, and a HOME :!:

Pictures of the ensuing happiness :-D

Camden (Chocolate Lab) and BeeBee (sweet mutt o'mine) think it's great! The cats love sleeping under it already.

Now, about that late fall campout at Joe Wheeler State Park...

Squawks:

The Jerry can strap was swiped.
The only gauges that are working are the RPM and the speedo. Did I forget to turn some dang switch on or something?
Has an oil drip up front on the engine somewhere. Will find it tomorrow.:hammer:
One of the horn trumpets fell off.
The horn doesn't work.
All lights are OK!
It's a beast to stop. I had to stand on the pedal going down a hill to a stoplight.
Transmission is excellent.
It is LOUDfat lady sings
The steering kicked my rear. Kicked it real hard.
$68 to fill it with Diesel. Fuel wasn't as low as I thought!

Question- how many of you use 1st gear in normal level road driving when starting from a stoplight :?:

T'anks Grounded! :-D
Got to get the air-assisted steering though. Also thinking about some taller gears. Margaret and I plan to use it for camping.

Other gauges might work if you flip the three lever switch over one or two notches to the right - takes coordination, as you also have to flip up the lower right switch to unlock the top one. If that is not the problem, look under the dash to see if they are still wired up or not.

Check the fluid level in the master cylinder, sounds like you might be low. If you are, try to figure out why!

I almost always use 1st when starting out, unless the truck will roll downhill when the brake is released, but that's me. YMMV.

I rarely use 1st gear to start on level ground. 2nd works just fine...especially for those rolling stop signs :-D

On a hill, I've found I lose less momentum if I start in low range 2nd gear, and then my first shift is the transfer case low to high range.

The 1st to 2nd shift was always tough (and took longer) in my truck (I've had a number of deuces and they all seem to be like this...).

Items found in the glove box:

Noise headphones
Ear Plugs
Ancient Gatoraid bottle (yuck)
Convoy loadout and route information on 8 x 11 sheets

I also found a staff meeting flip pad (or whatever you call it- big paper thingie) wadded up behind the seat.
It has a loadout box diagram for the bed which included a dentist's chair and medical supplies. Also had an item listed as "eagles". That one has me stumped. Are they transporting raptors these days? :?: "Eagles" as in Napoleon :?: Dunno...

Ace Tomato Co., bless his soul, always said to start out in first gear if you want your clutch to live a long and happy life. I am paraphrasing Ace, but you get the drift.
I always start out in 1st gear, unless I have the xfer case in low range.
My truck will almost put me throught windsheild if I stand on the brakes and it does not take much effort. How is your air pressure? If it is good and your air pack is functioning properly, I would tend to think your brake linings are contaminated.
