front axle boots

I recieved my axle boots the other day to replace a bad one I installed recently. Now after installing them , the passenger side came unzipped. These do not have top or bottom written on them but I read that the passenger side needs to be installed so the zipper faces the rear of the truck. Could this be the problem? When I installed them, I put them on as the origionals ( both zippers facing the front.

Any ideas??

Doubt that that would cause the zipper to unzip. Check out this thread for some insight. Bigger question is did you seal the boots and how were the band clamps installed. They alone should have held the zipper in place. Can you post pics of the carnage please.

Yes The zipper goes back on pass side also ATV the zipper real good to seal it.

The zipper unzipped from the middle, like the zipper locks are not holding.

Both clamps are at the 12 o'clock position. This is the second passenger side boot in 2 weeks. Thats why I thought the zipper needs to face the rear of the truck as posted on this site.

Yellow and silicone? where from? I got my one piece from OD' but always try to keep informwd on whats out there.

I put a yellow on the drivers side, real easy and so far no issues.

I just installed the new yellow silicone one piece boots! They are real easy to install to ! I did the install alone and did not have any issues putting the outer clamp on ,Like with the old style boots . They are much heavier duty than the old black rubber boots
Of course while i had it apart, I did new bearings and seals also

Ditto on the one man and real easy for the yellow boot. Checked it again today and it is on solid as can be.
