Hey everyone I need some help again. I took off my intake manifold and I can fell a small threaded whole on the bottom of the injector pump. It seems to me like that is where my fuel leak is. Is there a bolt missing? does something need to be tightened? or is it just leaking seals? When I spray ether on it the engine does rev up.

There seams to be a plug of some sort under there. I dont have a pump that is taken out right now but it looks to be # 30 & 31. Might be able to replace the gasket/seal. but on that note.. after one seal goes to heck.. Im sure more will leak soon too.. might be a good idea to replace or rebuild that pump. After 20 + years the Pumps seam to start to leak fail even with very low miles.

Does anyone here have personal experience with either of the above mentioned suppliers...? If so,, were they happy with the rebuilt pump..? Calibration accuracy,, seals holding up, leaks, etc....? Any feedback would be appreciated. I just don't want to replace my worn pump with another crap pump... If i have to spend 5-700 to get a good one i'll do it,, but this 275 price tag is sure attractive.... Thoughts...?

I cant remeber who posted the link to me, but a seller on e-bay sold one to a member here for 270. Supposably it was turned up and all and the member was happy with it, hopefully they'll pipe up!

As I've posted before, Stanadyne official price list for a warrantied rebuild is $390. So anything above that is pretty much extortion. If you're buying one, you can figure on about $250 or so of that being core charge. Most places will refund the core charge if you send them your old pump within 7-10 days (varies). Can't recall exactly, but it seems all three of the mentioned vendors are fairly reputable and members have had good results in the past. (think the ebay guy is kr services or something similar).

I recently used pensacola fuel injection, www.pensacoladiesel.com , for a rebuilt IP. It was $352 to my door with a new intake gasket set. The best part was the lack of a core charge. They will give you 30 days to return the core to them without a core charge. They were great guys to deal with. Recommended by one of my local diesel shops in georgia.
Hope this helps.
My M1009 starts up as easily as my Cummins now!!:-D

I was lucky and only needed to replace the seals in mine (flex ring had broken up, and was clogging the check/pressure-regulator-valve on the return line).. Did it myself for $40... A bit tedious, but turned out really well, runs great now.
