Finally got a little time in my schedule to install the winch I picked up last month from Jim. Well, it's MOST of a winch, it still needs a shaft, levers and a PTO, but it's a good start. My son and his friend were there to do most of the work.

Nothing earth shattering about getting it on -

1. Remove bumper and grill.
2. Drive all over town looking for hardware - find a great hardware you never knew about.
3. Spend more than you want on bolts and still not get enough.
4. Crack open the TM. Print pic.
5. Install frame extentions just like the pic in the TM.
6. Install winch on to it's frame mounts.
7. Have the boys lift it up and set on the frame extentions.
8. Cuss and wish you had more bolts. Steal a couple from elsewhere for now.
9. Scratch head and wonder how the grill goes back on.
10. Thank the 12 year old when he points on the lower half isn't needed on a WINCH truck.
11. Reinstall bumper and count missing bolts. Write that down.

Everything is still loose. You can get at every bolt when it's all done so we left it all loose until all the holes are filled. Then the boys will finish up.

Nice job. Good to see the boys involved. I need to do the same thing. Bought a winch setup from jcappeljr awhile back and between work and maintance on my DD vehicles I haven't had time to get it installed.

Great JOB! Great to see the kids involved!

I just picked up a winch off a 5 ton and I'm going to install it on my 109.
I need to convert it to hydraulic, so I have a bit of a project ahead of me...Should be fun!
