I need a winch. My employees were using my winch to move some HMMWVS yesterday and wraped the winch up to far and broke the top brace back brace, and LH gear box. So now I need a winch. If anyone has one I'd like to buy it or trade parts or whatever. Thanks.

Not trying to get on you but, were ther using it with the correct shear pin? Where they trained in winch operation od the deuce? Please tell us more, so we can learn from this. Sorry to hear of the damage, I have parts winches here, but shipping would kill a deal.

:cry:The guy who was operating it said he used one while he was a Marine in the 70's. So I trusted him. He finished the winching operation and wound the winch up ready to have the chain wrapped around the bumper and sinched tight. The guy on the front didn't wrap the chain around the bumper. THe guy on the inside got the all clear to move the duece. Through it in first and drove about 10 ft before the guys watching could get him to stop. By that time the winch had wound up to the point the knuckle that the chain ataches to had already busted the top brace, wound around until it bent the back brace and pulled the drum partway out of the rh gear box. The rh gear box imediatly dumped the oil on the ground. The drum lock and the engagement lever are both froze. So now I'm out a winch.

Sorry to hear. This last step I do with the pto stoped and out of gear. To get the chain right where I want it I turn the drum by hand to sinched the chain and set the drum lock. No last min. suprizes that way.
