Ok my Deuce non turbo (for now) Started to have engine cutting off. I have ran this truck of the road at 55-60 mph and towed other mvs behind with out this problem. The FDC is not by passed and the fuel has been turned up 2 flats some time ago. It has a NAPA aftermarket fuel pump that replaced the intank one. All this has been done a while ago. Filters are newer and have good fuel psi from the napa pump. Like I said the truck just started doing this . It all most sounds like a govner as the rpm drops about 300 rpm and some of the smoke out the tail pipe also slows down. It picks right up and runs fine for a bout 5 min and starts all over. :?:. I have never been affraid of driving the truck anywere, and towing my goat or anything else, but starting to get nervous.

possibly water or primary filter. The primary gets plugged pretty quickly if you have any gunk in your tank at all.

I'v been useing used motor oil and it hasn't been strained as good as I'd like. I too put in new filters, but suspect it is rapidly cloging them up too. It still runs fine, but at idle, every so often it 'dips' for a microsecond and then its fine for a bit. I suspect the filter under the Alternator. When my filters were new, man it would rev out under acceleration and hit redline in quick order, so I know how good it will run with clean filters. I'v about had it with used oil and stuff, it's going to be just #1 deisel from now on, it's only $2.50 here, and runs way better.
