Here we go...putting together a parts list of what someone might be recomended to replace while replacing the inner front axle seal....I figure I don't want to go back in in six months to replace something i could have done while wheel was off. Also just don't want to have it in the air and need a part that I should have thought of while replacing seal....

here is what i have so far but PLEASE chime in on stuff that I might want to have on hand to keep from backing up and punting....

-seals and boot kit
-2 gal gear oil
-2 tubes of grease
-brake pads
-bearings????

anything I am missing?????

I know there are several threads on changing the seals but I wanted to get a colaberative of not just seals but normal items that could or should be changed while doing inner seal!

Oh yeah, don't forget BFS, you'll have to bleed the brakes after you inspect the cyls. Might want to get a rebuild kit or two. Might as well do them while your in there.

I would do everything while I was in there.... shoes, wheel cylinders (or rebuilt them), seals, etc.

it is such a messy job that it's worth it to do it once and forget it.

If you are overhauling wheel cylinders, get a good cylinder hone. Save the old brake fluid to use when honing, just filter it though a disposable coffee filter.

Got a pressure washer? It works to clean out the nasty grease in the knuckle when the axle is pulled. Shove rags in it to prevent water intrusion.

Double check the axle breather system. When it sticks, it makes the axle seals leak GO into the knuckles or bearings on the rear.
