2009 vin info thread

Ok, here is a stumper.... When I got my deuce from GL at SANGB (Mt Clemens MI) I also picked up a M105A2 trailer. I'm not sure what info you can come up with on this but the data plate indicates serial is 17063 and it has a delivery date of 3/54!!! Here are a couple of pics...

Not showing up in my database. Appears as if they never entered any info on it.

Ensure you use the serial number and only the serial number as your vin. The registration num ber has nothing to do with the vin. Only the sn is stamped on the frame.

Checking on some of the other information you gave, it was actually turned in to DRMO by Co F, 237th Support Battalion of the MI guard. It is possible it spent the full time since 94 with the unit above since the support battalion could have been (most likely is) the unit responsible for turn-ins.

I pulled the information above from the GL website when I purchased the vehicle. I went North this weekend and wrote down eveything I could find. It appears I have something different then what was listed. Here is what I found:

look for the frame number. At least you have the NSN correct if it doesn't have a winch.

to get to it. Ill have it posted tomorrow.
Its not a winch truck so I guess Im ok on the NSN.
Does the bumper #s make since? I copied them exactly as they are on the rear bumpers.
Seems what I was posting as the serial# was the door #, sorry bout that.

After much hunting and pecking during my insomnia tonight, I found it using the top secret website of google. 1-144 refers to the 1-144th Infantry, TX Army National Guard. When there was a 49th Armor Division, they were associated with the 3rd Army Corps at Ft Hood.

Door number would be the registration number but the 3 character should be a letter.
