help identifying m54a2 powersteering

i understanding there are 2 different types of power steering on these trucks and one type is better than the other . can someone identify this type by the picture. also whats the difference in power between the cummins truck and the multi fuel trucks? i bought the truck for parts now that i see the pictures i kind of hate to strip it.

Thats the lesser of the two styles of steering. I haven't had one personally, but I know they are way more complicated than the later style.

You have a generation 1, or type 1 PS on it. THEY SUCK. Hence why trucks were upgraded to generation 2, or type 2 PS. I still have several trucks with gen 1. You will get used to it if you drive the thing. If you drive a truck with gen 2......you'll notice the difference.

Go from driving many miles in a deuce to a 5 ton and you will like the GEN 1 steering!!!!! Then drive many miles in that 5 ton and then drive the Gen 2. Both have the same feeling of change!!!! Night and day difference. My M62 has the later steering and it makes me smile every time!!!!!
