redirect please. what "keyed" source does the volt meter get it's power from

another one for the pros here, what does tan wire on isolated ground go to (gen 2) since gen 1 goes to ground? approxamately 12 guage wire. If tan wire goes to suppressor than where is suppressor and what does it look like????? i have the tm's in front of me, they are just not clear like(third post on starter, or input side of 24v solenoid) i'm really trying here

I think the tan( brown) wire you are talking about is the wire that goes to the gen2 relay, under the dash. (figure F-9)

There should be another diagram, figure F-4(cab ignition circuits), that will clearly show the voltmeter and its wiring.

Is there one BIG schematic that shows everything together? I hate how the tm's have everything broken down (starting circuits, charging circuits, etc.). I need to see everything together.

No C, there is not. That does make it a bit more difficult.

Well theres kind of an unsaid rule about needlessly posting, or rather at least making an effort in 'SEARCH', really its just courtesy, and for your benefit. You'll also come across simmilar questions and a variety of answers, some close to your question, some of no use at all, but in the future you might just remember that 'bit of something' that you came across in past searches. You'll find that there will be alot of Members here to help you, and they all started the same as you, thats how you make rank, by the amount of questions, answers, posts and threads that you post. So welcome and read on.........

Id be scared to look at a schematic and compare to the wiring in mine, I don't think hardly any is stock..

its so rewired and bypassed... 12v conversion, push button glowplugs, most of the dash gauges don't work too well ( gen 1/2 works, speedo thats about it)

but there ain't nothign wrong with the radio... except it comes on when you push the glow plug button!!

True, that. Doghead's pretty genius with this stuff, but we all encounter new and different things. If I recall correctly, m38inmaineSteel Soldiers::Military Vehicles Supersite - View Profile: m38inmaine
is pretty good with wiring. Remember something about him rewiring the whole truck from scratch. Could be wrong. You can search the posts.

Always start with the TMs (in the Wiki/FAQ, or better yet, save them to your laptop and take it with you when you go to work on the truck!), then if you get stuck, go for the gold and post. Sorta wish I'd chosen to be a diesel mechanic over an ammo/explosives guy when I first enlisted. Guys like Westech, etc really have a leg up.

Hard corps can post as much as he wants, I never get tired of seeing his avatar!
Mostly this post was just for you. :-D I have more pics if you click to see my profile and albums.
