Nothing quite like the deep breath and exhale in your ear while trying to sleep routine.... or the Shepherd squeak in the middle of the night when he wants to go out and check for rabbits. Buddy has the shortest coat, but he is the one that gets out of bed because he gets too hot.Ouch. That skeletal picture brings back memories. My Bear was 3 or 4 years old when I found him starving. 37lbs. The Doc said he was wasting and didn't have much time left. 9 years later, I wake up in the middle of the night to find an 80 lb. Shepherd snoring on top of me. I always tell him, "Pal, your life has changed..." He goes right on snoring...
From GL site:Also,,, the odometer shows 20k,,, and the last maintenance records that CARNAC provided showed 18k........ The truck looks like its seen more than 20k..... Should i assume this truck has 120k or 220k.......? Anybody know how to tell if the odometer has rolled over....? If this truck has more than 20k,,, seems like GL may have provide false information (they actually posted it on the auction website with 20k)...
I started my military career in the Marine Corps Reserves before augmenting to active duty, and if you do the math, it's really not hard to believe the mileage on the trucks coming out of ARNG units. The trucks are 20 years old, divided by say 50K miles is 2,500 mi/yr. divided by 12 months is roughly 210 miles/month. I know our Humvees got nowhere near that kind of driving time. Especially in HQ/SVC units. Most of the mileage was probably racked up once a year during their 2-week annual training exercises at off-site location. The rest of the time these vehicles sat in the motor pool unless someone was driving around town/base for a few days to get their MV operator's license.I did not get my truck from GL, it shows 78000 on the odometer. I guess it's possible to have that many origonal miles but it doesn't bother me if it has 178000. It's hard to believe that anything from the 80's exept a garaged Corvette or grandmas car has under 100,000. I hope that some of you do have super low mileage trucks, but I believe the government wouldn't get rid of them until the odometer has rolled once.!
Keep in mind, if your check valve is clogged it is most likely due to seals breaking down inside your pump. When I cleaned my clogged check valve, it only took two days before my IP was leaking out the weep hole.Sweet tip! Thanks to both of you, I will try that tomorrow! Glen
The weep hole is on the very bottom of the housing just before it bolts to the engine. Its location keeps fuel from entering your crankcase. Easiest way to check for leaks is to look in the valley under the IP pump.Where is the weep hole on the IP located?
If i delay the IP rebuild,,, will it damage itself...? Or will it just run worse and worse,,, and finally not run at all...? If there is a potential for the pump to tear itself up (ie- metal on metal wear) once the seals go out,,, then i will rebuild it immediately; however, if it will only leak and run poorly, i will likely put it off for a while...
