Have been searching for other similar threads, but did not find any answers. Have a question:
My M1009 is really hard starting when cold. Sometimes I about give up, but starts. Do not want to put that type of strain on the starter continuosly, and need some help. Not sure if the glow plugs have ever been changed, should I change the glow plugs first, and then see how it cold starts? Or is there something else I should be looking for?
Appreciate the help.
Copy me on another hyperlink that would be helpful, or chime in with advice.
Much appreciated,
Thanks,

if you have not changed/replaced the glow plugs its time to do so. There is a VERY good chance there bad. I just use the Civy ones from Autozone for 7 bucks each. Only thing is you have to nip the connectors a tad to get them to fit. You also want to make sure the relay is working and the resistor is not bad on the fire wall. But a good place to start is to replace the glow plugs. Some will say "test this and that first" but I have owned a oile of them and When a cucv is hard starting 99% of the time a plug change take care of it. If it would not start at all you would want to look at the control card, and related parts, but if it just hard starting a good bet is just to swap out the glow plugs.
