The leak finding adventure!!

I have been putting it off til I had the time and the time is now here. When I put the "new" engine in my truck a few years ago I had a couple small fuel leaks from some of the lines going into the injector pump. Ididn't have time to fix it and it was in a bad spot so it has been leaking for a few years. And recently I developed a oil leak from somewhere that has been getting steadily worse over the past few months. So the time has come to take apart the fender (I am replacing that while it is off) and start searching. Wish me luck.

I'm in the same boat with mine, just got a replacement engine installed and test run, and fuel lines that didn't leak before my swap now leak, but at least I know which ones!

1 leak down , ? more to go. I found this panel on the side of the injector leaking from the top bolt hole, it needed to be tightened. For some reason the oil leak seems to have disappeared, but I know all that oil had to come from somewhere.

Thats your booster pump, haven't pulled that cover off but i imagine a loose bolt there would leak quite a bit. Be glad you found it before the bolt got real loose and departed, could be quite the nasty mess.

hard to tell from looking but the air compresser looks to be leaking and getting the oil filter cans wet . and the block looks wet near the rear when the head looks dry which ussually means a bad head gasket but more pics would help out.remember fuild only flow down hill so look for leaks from top to bottom:roll:

Correct you were. Upon closer inspection the compresser right by the oil filters and block looks to be leaking. I have to get to that today and the rear valve cover was loose which I think may have caused the leak by the back. (I replaced the headgaskets a couple years ago, and they are still torqed to spec).

Yesterday I took off the exhaust, fender and D turbo. I am putting on a C turbo (Papabear's favorite) today and will find/fix the other leaks I found (compressor and another fuel leak).
