I just won a Wisconsin Robin 3 KW Gen Set at Fort Bragg on January 22. My EUC was just issued today - 7 day wait. I plan to pick it up sometime next week. I didn't inspect it, but it looks good in the GL photo, so I hope I got lucky. Now I need a manual. I hope there is one in Resources, but I haven't searched yet.

This was a lot faster than my last EUC, so I can't complain much. Of course I bought a pig in a poke so to speak, not having inspected the GenSet. I couldn't find a manual in the Resources. I believe the manual is TO 35C2-3-499-1. Does anyone out there have one or know where I can get one?

don't have a clue on the TM, but congrats on the fast EUC and that is one nice looking generator set.

Look for a TM for the 30D-36R genset. I used to work on them until I retired last year. If nothing else the engine is an air-cooled Robins and I know you can find information on-line about them. The chinese make a carbon copy of them.

The only thing you might need to do it flash the field diodes. It does have provisions for battery start as well. Make sure and ground it when you use it. Other than being loud they usually run great on diesel.

I hope your luck is better than mine with these sets, I got four all total from GL in Hooks, TX, the first one has a seized engine, it looks like is was left outside with the primer plug out and water got into the cylinder. The second one turns over great and puts out a great cloud of vaporized diesel just won't start, I think the auto compression bypass is stuck open, the third one has a bad fuel pump(first one is going to be a parts donor) I am going to pull the fourth one out of storage this next week! And as for EUCs in the past mine have gone through in a week to ten days I am now moving into my third month on one for a 1966 M101 trailer?????

Just a question for you guys that buy a lot from GL: I have made a couple of purchases over the last two years and have not been burned too bad yet. My question is how do you inspect these items, as all the things that I have bid on have a "no screening" or no escort at site, What gives?

Thanks
Jim

GL doesn't like to waste a time slot on letting you look, at best you can call for a 15 inspection appointment but then when you get there they only honor the appt. if they have someone available to escort you! Or at least this has been my experience, some of the smaller sites are a lot more flexible with their time and will let you look.

Well, I've now picked up the Wisconsin Robin GenSet from Fort Bragg. I have done zero checkout on it yet, but it looks mostly complete except for the battery bracket. Interestingly, there were two DD Form 1574 (Serviceable Tag - Materiel) attached. The first one simply had the number 4 written on it. The second one had 'Crapped Out - Repairable' written on it. I guess I'll find out soon enough. There were two others waiting to be picked up. I got lucky as the one I got looked better, but sometimes looks don't count.
