Tuesday I had arthroscopic knee surgery on my right knee. They did a little cleaning up and between my doctor and my wife, I have been grounded all week. She went back to work today, so I went out and cleaned the snow off of the sidewalk, driveway and the M1009. Fired the old girl up, loaded up a couple of big white dogs and we went for a cruise through the countryside. I was only down three days, but I was going stir crazy for sure. I am not one to be staying in the house. The 6.2 sounded great and the boys had a good run. I drive it with the seat all the way back and the knee bend was perfect..... I feel much better now, [thumbzup] wonder what time she works tomorrow...... 8)8) Glen

I know where you're coming from Glen. After having foot surgery and then hernia surgery and a bad back, all in one years time, I was bored outta my mind. Fortunately I had a break between each problem. Hope this is a better year for you. Enjoy all you can. Keep drivin that truck when your stir crazy.:driver: IF the dogs will let you get in!:p

LOL!!! No problem getting in!! I just Leash up Sir and let Buddy go to the truck. I am not man enough to stop those two when they think they are going to go for a ride. They have a lot more go than I do whoa!! My two wheel drive chassis does not stand a chance against the twin four wheelers... Maybe tomorrow we will go out by the lake and grab some photos...

Sunday is the 24th anniversary of my in the line of duty shooting, I always take the 31st off if I can. Not sure what I will do that day, the Mrs took it off this year. I think she plans to go out to eat. I go back to the doctor Tuesday to get a release for work. Might get to go play with the boys again Monday.
Funny how good a day or two of roaming around in one of those old green trucks feels. Glen

A week after I brought my Pinz home, a drunk kicked me in the knee on duty, destroying it. My knee had to be totally rebuilt. I couldn't even get in the Pinz, let alone drive it. 6 months on light duty in Dispatch. I've been in Investigations ever since. It was my second surgery and the Dr. said there was only so much they could do due to the severity of the damage. I was so excited to get in the truck and drive it.

Wish you peace on your anniversary. Not much better than taking the furry friends out for a peaceful walk in the woods.

The Pinz is a machine I always wanted to spend some time around. They are different enough to be very attractive for a mechanical nut like myself.

I have some bad knee history in the family, seems like a weakness for us. My little brother has been scoped and Dad had both of his replaced. I have one of the best, if not the best guy available in Kansas working on mine. He did the bone repairs and rebuilt a knuckle for me when I got shot. It was kind of disappointing to have him tell me no more running or jogging unless absolutely necessary. He said I will probably need a knee replacement in ten years, adding that I should put it off as long as possible.

Investigations is always an option, it just kills me to be inside. It might be time to find a new line of work, I surely would hate to leave though.

I wish you the best in your career and hope you can slide by without another injury. I am sure in the many years of night shift (21) that I worked, I have injured my knee several times. I will miss the drunks, I am one of the few that actually enjoys them. Each one is an entertainment package all his own.

Whatever I do Sunday, it will be with a lot of reflection and a peaceful day.....if I can spend some time in a green machine, it will be that much better!! Thanks, Glen

Being inside is hard, especially here. I moved here for the scenery and the wildlife. Being stuck in a windowless office is tough. Not as bad when it's -20 outside and blowing snow, though.

I blew my knee out in high school. It lasted me for 15 years of fights and foot chases back in Ohio. One dumb drunken ski bum landing a "mule kick" while walking him to my car was all it took.

I'm planning on a replacement someday too. Hopefully later than sooner. One good thing about this town is we have really good orthos. Mine was the official surgeon for the
US Ski team.

Pinz was the coolest ride I ever had. Hated to sell it. Still planning on my next green toy. Nothing better than a day wheeling in the mountains!

Take and be safe, brother.

A "mule" kick directly to the kness, especially with a previous injury can do a lot of damage. I do not envy you any. I hope you get a green toy of some sort soon.

I am really enjoyng the road speed, sound and easy handling of the M1009. Now I see why the Civilian Blazers were so popular. I had a 77, but it was 2wd with a Corvette engine and stiff stabilzer bars. I loved it too, but it was helpless on a wet boat ramp, much less a mud road.

I have a buddy with a four door Mog, he want to unload it and I would really like to have it. I fear that it is just too slow for the Kansas prairie, that is his main complaint. He has gone back to wheeling with a Jeep. He has been drooling over my M1008, but my truck is only worth about a 1/3 of what his is.

I really want a M818 on 52-53" rubber..... I just would hate to feed it... Take care my friend... Glen

The M1009 seems to be the most practical choice, but
I really want a M35a2 (a3) if I can arrange a place to keep it.

ANother Pinz is always an option if I can save up enough money.

This green fever sure is aweful.

I had knee surgery waayyy back when and found at the time that the Chevy full size trucks had the perfect angle at the floor board to sit with my knee comfortable. I still think that model truck is the most comfortable to sit in with a bad knee.
