I'm having second thoughts about the deuce I located locally. It has more things that need to be done to pass inspection, than I want to tackle at this time.
Has anyone had dealings with Eastern Surplus and Equipment in Philadelphia? They have several M35's on their website that look ok.

I've dealt with Dave Newman before. Bought an old gasser tractor from him. He was very fair and accomodating in my dealings with him.

dave is a fair minded guy. just bought a m886 from him. he knows how to sweeten a deal. also when you look at military trucks they are used. These are like any used car or truck. There are no warrentees or guarrantees here. look for low hours. weak spots are always brakes and trannys.I also bought my m109a2 from him.ran good for 500 miles till second gear went out. bought a depot rebuild from boyce for $900. remember these trucks were driven by 18/19 year old punks

I bought my 1971 M35a2 from him. Then 6 or 7 months past and the transfer went out in the truck. I called him and he told me to come up and he would make it right. So we drove up and he let me have a tested takeout for only $150.00 . He Is A good guy to do business with... I recommend him 100%..

Not wanting to turn this in to a rant, but..
I strongly disagree with Steve. These trucks were NOT DRIVEN BY PUNKS. They were driven by 18 and 19 year olds who are in my eyes the greatest men and weman we have in America today. Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marines, they are the best i. Punks could never do anything as brave as what they are doing.
Not as lean, not as mean, but still a Marine. Frank

I second the above sentiment. When I was the 19 yoa punk I was painfully aware that my rifle could and would save my life. My truck also. Getting broke down in a war zone means leaving the safety of the convoy and sticking it out by yourself until maint can get it going or tow it. Your equipment can save you but only if it works. This was one of the elements to being a soldier. Take care of the equipment. I doubt that has changed much in the last 15 years.

I've haggled with him over some trucks he had at one time or another. I didn't end up buying but that was mostly because it was tough to get up there to look when I had trucks down here I could directly eyeball. He's done some work for one of the members of my WWII group and I think he did well.

I've sent other people his way.
