Sounds like you're cooking the battery. First check all of your connections to be sure they're clean and tight. Check the voltage at each battery, and check your output voltage at each alternator. Should be around 14.5 volts. If it's more than that you may have a bad voltage regulator. Have the offending alternator rebuilt or do it yourself if you are so inclined. If you have it rebuilt be sure to let the rebuilder know that it has an isolated ground.

The passenger side alternator charges the back battery by the firewall. The other one does the front battery. That alternator looks like it should work fine. But is there anyone local to you that rebuild alternators. Usually that is cheaper.

Unless you have money to burn, I would have it repaired at a reliable alternator shop. I have had 6-10 of these repaired an it has never been over $35.00 and usually it is the regulator. I suggest, if you do it this way, I would take the other one in with bad one & just ask them to check it.
I would tell them that both are "Isolated" ground to use on a 24V setup on military truck JUST to be on safe side as they should be able to tell just by looking at back of alternator.
