gear reduction starter rebuild parts

well i had the famous starter problem today so i pulled it out took apart to find out that the bendix came apart and took out the brushes does anyone know where i can get the parts to rebuild it

pm me for the details i woulkd still like to rebuild this one i remember when i got this one the guy said he has to go to the parts warehouse to get some parts for another starter if i could find this place and if they sell to the public we would all be in business

I thought the gear reduction starter was 12 volt?
I had my original 24 volt starter rebuilt for 170.00 :hammer:
works great I can't complain.

I had not heard of the gear reduction starter till a few months back!

You can get the gear reduction in 12v or 24v.

Contact Spring Hill Auto Electric (link above) and tell them what you have. They should be able to find the right kit.

I have found a service manual for the GM Gear Reduction Starter. It is a MT-28, DelcoRemy Manual 1M-128

ok so got an email from sringhill this morning they have the armature for $45 and the btushes for $3 apiece and you need 4 of them so for about 60 bucks plus shipping i can get my starter rebuilt
