Are you asking about "special" electronics or just electrical?

Don't forget the Low Coolant system, Fuel Filter Housing, Gen2 relay, ICE/STE system with the Resistor Board and Tach Buffer, noise suppressors, Black Out Lights, various Diodes.

And the Granddaddy of them all......the Isolated Ground Alternators.

While many of the systems mentioned are electrical can they really be called electronic? Here's what I mean. Most electronic systems, as I understand them, are defined as those systems that utilize integrated circuitry running on very low voltage. In many cases these electronic systems function as controllers for higher voltage systems. I would think that the glow plug module would fit into this category as it has an IC and as such works on low voltage. As for many of the other systems mentioned such as the resistor board, black out lights, and starting system... I would classify these as electrical systems but not electronic. These systems on the CUCV have no electronic controls, that I am aware of, and operate at 12 or 24 volts. I have looked over the wiring diagrams for my M1031 (chassis) and as far as I can tell the only electronic system is the glow plug control module. The only exception I can see in this might be the voltage regulators on the alternators. The ICE/STE system does have a small circuit board but as far as I know is only used for diagnostics and does not actually control any system on the truck. IMHO.

I guess what I meant by "electronic" is little green circuit boards.
If you are asking if there are any circuit boards that are essential to the vehicle functioning, there aren't any. In an emergency, you can run a ground wire to a momentary toggle switch to bypass the glow plug circuit.

As Crash said, there are no "required" electronic boards.

The electronic boards are:

Glowplug controller
STE/ICE Tach Buffer
STE/ICE Resistor Board
Low Coolant Controller Board
Seatbelt Warning Buzzer/Timer (haven't opened one up to check it)
and the variuos relays (can you call them electronic????)
