Well - I have had a few days off because of the rain here in Illinois, so I have had a chance to rough out a web site for M.A.N. 8x8's. Enjoy

If you are open to suggestions for the website I just have one. Have the new pages open in the same window. By the time I looked at your entire website I had 10 tabs open.

Remove the following: target="_blank" from each menu item.
<a href="About_Me.html" target="_blank" onClick="">About Me</a></li><li>

And target="_self" is not needed. It's redundant.

Hey tcody,
it is nice for me to see an MAN in the states. They have been built never to leave Europe. However, you own one. I have a friend who owns one since some 20 + years, a former Pershing II tractor.
For me one question arises: How you want rto restore and maintain European technology in the States? On this truck really everything has nothing to do with the US-system, everything is metric! And you truck looks like to need a full restauration!
The engine is based on a 10 cylinder Daimler engine, the injection pump, I guess, nobody in the States can adjust or overhaul; the transmission is a 8 speed WSK ( in German Wandler Schalt Kupplung of ZF), the axles are Daimler outer planatary drive HL / HD / HA 8 axles, for the Rotzeler winches in the States nothing available, even no new seals, for the Atlas crane you are lost as well, special designe for the Army, but full metric. And you need a truck set of metric tools. Prices are of course truck price and support from MAN can not be expected any more, to old and too reare. No surplus!
Good luck with the restauration job!

Thanks for the reply. You are right about the truck being difficult to work on. I have spent about 5 years collecting parts for the M1002. Working on Unimogs has given me a pretty good set of metric tools! I hope this site will help put people in touch with one and other who are interested in these trucks to make it easier. Here in the USA there are two companies that have experience with the ZF transmission that I know of. The engine is not a problem - MAN marine engines are pretty common and we have a good network of dealers. Many of the truck parts are, however, hard to come by. There are no MAN truck dealers in the USA.
