I took mine out and threw it out. It needed to be welded up and was missing some stuff. its the same rack on a m35

I have seen the rack mounted in the front of the bed on some M1008's at the GSA in Ft Worth. Behind the seat might be easier than climbing into the bed to get to the tools. And worse if you had the truck loaded.

You need the MAXAX multi purpose tool then you do not need the big bulky pioneer tool rack. I have three of these one in each vehicle I own and they are nice. This is a special tool kit for all military vehicles, wheeled & tracked. This is made by Forrest Tool Co. in California. This has an axe, shovel, mattock, broad pick, pick, rack-hoe attachment & carrying case. $149.95 new but I bought mine off ePay for $75-$110 new and used.

The MaxAxe is usually $200+ and is sold in a yellow or red in the civilian market. $125 is a crazy good price especially for a Mil issue OD green one.

Not hard, if you don't mind doing it every time you used the tool. Spray painting only holds up untill you use whatever you painted then it needs to be done again.

I e-mailed the company, active duty military can get it for 175.00 out the door and you can get it in OD. Just thought i would pass the intel on to you guys.
