Hi folks! My name is Craig.

I just bought a M1028 and I'm awaiting EUC approval. I have a thread started about it in the CUCV forum

I live in Central Ohio, by Columbus. This will be my first CUCV, and I'm looking forward to being a part of the forum.

I'm a huge diesel fan. I have an '04 GMC Sierra with a Duramax. That is my hotrod, it has a built Allison and heavily tuned engine. To date the best pass at the strip is 12.81@105 mph. That was a few years ago and I've made some modifications since then but I haven't raced it. I also have a '09 VW Jetta TDI that is my eco machine. No mods, just get in and enjoy 45+ mpg.

No mod's planned for the m1028 yet, just service it and drive. I have had a few 6.2's and 6.5's in the family so I'm ready to get started with the truck.

I'm glad to be a part of the forum now.

Hey Diesel Pilot, same boat as you here... waiting on EUC. Meanwhile... Wonder if you got any good pointers for a life-long gas-o-holic about starting up diesel engine that's been sitting for unknown years? In my own defense; I can strip a Q-Jet by flashlight and make it go on a dark & rainy nite, but I'm pretty lame when it comes to T-shooting diesels.

Anyway, best of luck on your EUC and the future project

Thanks guys, glad to be here. I'm impressed by all the guys that live really close. I might need your help in a month or so.

Not sure what you have, but steer clear of the starter fluid if it has glow plugs.

Treat the rest like your gasser's. Fresh service, a clean good fuel supply, and a small amount of lube in the cylinders. Make sure the tank is clean, diesel grows like a stagnant pond if no additives are there to prevent it.

You'll love the diesel, way less complicated than gas engines.
