Hauling a deuce frame.

A stripped deuce frame is about 450#. Not too terribly heavy up there above the cab.

Here's an idea the might work. take the M108 to the rally.. bring a towbar and the axle clamps. attach and axle to the rear of the frame (trailer axle). attach the axle clamps to the front cross member. attach tow bar to clamps and the rear of the 108.. attach the crane to frame to stabalize the front.. attach the pioneer trailer the pintle on the frame (if it's still there) just think of the looks going down the hwy

You went from selling the 108 to wanting a gasser frame and data plate for it? You are a fool, just swap data plates. The only people that will know the difference is HendersonJ, 54reo, Cranetruck and you!

Gimp, he wants the frame and plate for the dropside I believe. We are all hoping by swapping in a matching frame/plate he eventually gets the urge to install a 331 in place of the multi in the future.

If you don't need to open your passenger side door, I bet you could fab up(with minimal materials and work) an set of hangers and transport the frame hanging on the passenger side, like a ladder. I think you could do it and still be under 8' wide. Maybe just a pair of "hooks" that could hang on the bed sides(front and back) would work? just an idea

you could just bring a car trailer with you .Lay the frame down first the put the trailer on strap it all down and go ..No fabbing no problems driving home.Worst case you have to put a hitch on your deuce which is something that will come in handy later rather than making something that you may never use again

ALCON, As Jim said, I want this so that I can add everything from my dropside to it. Anyone remember the peach of a truck I had in the M275A2? It didn't have an original data plate and that ate at me long enough for me to sell the truck, at a considerable loss. My other reason is perhaps zombie apocalyptic but its what I think. In todays trying times and political atmosphere, I fear the thought of my personal freedoms that are under attack each and every day. I did an EUC on this dropside. If I can transfer everything to a truck that has been out of gov't inventory so long, they could never hope to find it, then I will take the left front frame rail and data plate that I remove and store it in the yard until the freedom wreckers come to recall it. Thanks for all the ideas, now I have some pondering to do.

Not a political statement but, if we fear our government so much, why not move our efforts into changing our government leaders, views and laws, rather than hide from them and allow them to "take us over". I know it's a long road but, we need to try.

Part of my multi faceted approach! I'm doing what I can on my end but in my humble opinion, most of the voting public is asleep at the wheel. I'm not only doing my best at getting this republic back on solid ground, I'm also making a contingency plan in the event that the sheeple continue on the current path to oblivion.

I'm not sure how far you are driving, but you could remove your hard top at home, drive to pick up the frame, lower your passenger windshield, drop the new frame onto the passenger side of the bed sticking out through the passenger side windshield, use wood to raise the frame to appropriate level to clear the back of the cab, & cinch everything down tight.
I would not do that for a lengthy trip.
Why don't you rent a big U-haul & forget about bringing the Deuce?

The trip is 700 miles one way. I can't bring myself to drive a U-Haul much less pay to do so. The deuce is necessary for this trip as I'm delivering and picking up mil trailers. I could do the hitch on my truck and bring my car trailer but I really don't like looking so civilian if I don't have to. I've been known to blow by a chicken coupe or two. I'll either construct a rack of sorts or hang it out of the bed and over the trailer. Heck, the deal may never happen and I'll need nothing.
