hi guys, i just replaced my front and rear brakes on my m1009. first problem i found was my right rear brake shoes were soaked with grease. the wheel cylinder was not leaking and i am pretty sure it's the axle seal leaking. I was wondering if someone has a part number for that bad boy. i looked in the parts book and couldn't find it. also, i noticed that my brakes stop me LESS than the ones i just replaced. is that normal. these are new and feel SOFTER than the old pads and shoes.....
any help fellas? thanks, pinwormfood

well he has a blazer. The rear seal is the run of the mill 10 bolt 8.5 inch GM rear truck axle. The seals can be found at Autozone or where ever. There NOT a military part.

These parts are still available through advanced auto parts/ napa / carquest
bumper to bumper auto parts.
or at your auto parts store pull the rear cover off you will half to remove the C clips to pull the axles check wheel bearing to also I would replace the pnion seal to this will stop any more problem try to bo this be for you finish the rear brake job or it will send grease all over your brakes and make them worth less.
