Was crawling around under da deuce the other day and disscovered water driping out from the pass side front axle knuckle boot! hmm? must be the result of one of my recent fording expiditions! anyway, pulled one of the kingpin bottom bolts and a qt of brown water poured out "oh thats good", so i promptly jacked it up and proceeded to take it apart ( i love working on this big stuff, its easy and fun! really! ) pulled the spindle and axle, cleaned everything up (with about 8 rolls of paper towels) both seals looked good, need to order a outer wheel bearing soon! greased it all up and slaped it back together! even set my toe in while i was at it. and while i was at it, i might as well pull the left side front axle flange and look at that set of wheel bearings, ok," might as well pull this side all apart and see what falls out" so when i took the spindle off, about two qts of Green Goo ploped out into the hazmat pan!!! no water at all, (just a few shades in color lighter than od green) Green Goo! this Green Goo was about the consistency of pudding and filled the knuckle cavity about 1/2, what is this Green Goo? I dont know? it seems to have kept everything well lubricated ,had a brand new axle and u joint runing in it, i mean the u joint caps were as shiney as a new penny! now i know that my deuce was bought from auction last nov. and no one's been in there since, so the Green Goo and new axle had to have been added while the truck was still in service.
What is this Green Goo and where can i get some?
ps: just wanted to see how many times i could say "Green Goo"
