So I've been looking for M920 parts and Centaur parts, its even hard to find CCC parts. Has anyone had luck finding sources for parts other than buying a second unit?

Wife wouldn't like another lawn toy, so I need to ensure I cna fix what I pull the trigger and bid on.

Wish they would disclaim the opperational status on every post.

Most of the parts are standard over the road truck parts, but there are some exceptions, such as the fan clutch. I have had good luck sourcing through my local heavy duty truck parts house. Items like fenders or body parts will have to come from a surplus yard that is parting out one of the 915/916/920 series. Luckily these trucks seem to be extremely dependable once they are running and in good shape. I have put thousands of miles on my M915A1 so far with no troubles whatsoever.

So I missed out on one by dumb luck. Auction ended on GL at my max proxy-bid but was awarded to the other bidder. I guess there's always next week...

3 went yesterday in OH for $6000 something $5150 and $16,500 for the brand new looking one. If I had the money $5000 ain't bad, but it would probably take another $5000 to get it right.

Ive used my m915a1,915 and 818 to haul about 70000 bu corn and beans in the last few months. I kept good record of the mileage with my gps. Im averaging 4.3 mpg going 32miles to Columbus with corn and having to drive thru town and a lot of stop lights with 78000 lbs. Ive been getting 5mpg going to Lincoln with the same weight of beans but a lot less stoplights. Ive been heads up with a lot of commercial trucks loaded same as me in drag racing away from stoplights, so far I havent had a single truck even come close to keeping up with me because they are clutching while I am just going. THis is with the 915a1. I put tall tires off the m919 on and am able to run 68mph. I love this truck, Im putting in air conditioning this weekend so I can handle the heat and will think about ways to soften the ride this winter. If you are using the 915a1 with heavy weight its best to start in 1-2 range and wait for all of the shifts(lockup) up to 30mph and then shift manually up to 3rd,4th,5th as you reach redline.

I bid on all three the 5150 actually closed at 5000 which was my bid.

I don't understand what you mean by it would need another 5K to get it right?

I said "probably", what I meant was there might be $5000 worth of repairs to get it totally right. That is about the cheapest I have seen one go, and it was almost in my price range to go ahead and jump on it. I just figured to get it totally roadworthy you'd have to invest a few thousand, let us know though how it goes. Hopefully there is no problems with it at all!

I do think it would take all of $5000 to get it looking like the one that went for $16,500.

Sorry if I offended you, just an observation; like I said hopefully it is totally perfect and you do not have to put a cent into it.

No offense, I was just trying to get clarification, as in perhaps you knew something I didn't.

My limit is 5K because I have 10K available, item cost + shipping + repair + registration + insurance = I need more money. 10K should cover everything.

Cheers

I just trying to win...

I guess I am waiting to find buried treasure in the backyard so that I can get one, along with an m870 trailer and then all the necessary licensing, titling, and insurance! I'll need at least $20,000!

The ones in SC were real nice and went for 4,xxx 2 weeks ago. Most looked like cherry trucks and that started and drove with like new tires. 300 bucks in paint with a nice running truck.
