Did you notice that your and my trucks were two of the ten trucks on that sale that had newer motors. They look the same as my 915a1(big cam 3, I think) I had those 10 trucks on my list and was hoping to get one of them. The differences I noticed were the ribbed lower half of intercooler and the air compressor intake plumbed into the manifold instead of the aircleaner pipe. The trucks look like nice ones. I was just hoping to get the air ride 915a1 in TX but it went too high for me.

actually I did notice that, I wanted to mechanically cleanest truck I could get and the new engine was a dead give away for me. I don't want to have to think of any kind of work on it for a loooong time. I was looking at yours too while bidding and its a nice one. I know you have a different need for your truck but mine will not have the lift axle or the tandems, I will run it as a 4x4 and air ride in the rear. I am thinking that she will ride like a caddy when finished.

eldgen...i'll take that 5ton in your avatar...free of charge i'll even come get it for free!

so when do us west side people of hte state get to see your 920?
It wont be long, I frequently visit my local DRMO in ft lewis so I would think within a month or so. As for the 5 ton, that was 3 trucks ago and now resides in a bean field earning its keep.

As I posted over on the "who got what" thread...

that is very nice of you, I may just have to take you up on that.
thanks.

Ya i would love to come up for a day and check that m920 out when you get it back.

Hope you both have a successful and safe recovery.

Edit: Maybe i'm just confused, or don't have that good of an eye, but the auctions you each posted show the exact same engine bay shot. The ground, rust or anything else doesnt change. Hopefully thats not the case, but just though i would throw that out there.

If someone could double check that for me i would be curious to see what a second opinion says.

Nope, you are not confused, just looked up the picture info and its the exact same image, and since the engine bay is green that I am the one who got screwed, I just hope that the one in my truck is is half way descent condition at this point.

the engine bays are usually green even on the tan trucks, number 20,21,17,18,00,03,05,09,32 and the 916 trucks pictured with "new" motors also appears to have the same engine(2 diff engines are used for all) from a little diff angle.....Crummy fiends took several angles of a few engines and used them for all auctions. I will not be happy if mine dosent have that engine in it. I bet any of the auctions showing engine pics for the first pic are not engines from that truck... Lazy boneheads....

To get the thead back on track..... I live about 15 miles from Pineville. Unfortunately, I am offshore right now and am heading to Norway soon. Do you have a window when you'll be here?

Crap, mine shows the "new" grey Cummins. It was the only M916 of the ones I looked at that showed that engine. Is there anyone who can go over there and check it out?

well, it takes about a week for the EUC and 10 days to get the heck out of dodge so I was thinking of flying out the 26th or the 2nd.

I sent my euc last night, hopefully we can pick up at the same time and convoy towards our homes...
Kendelrio, I think it will be in the same timeframe for me and eldgenb, the last of august or first of september.

I called the lot manager and I am going to have him jump my truck to make sure i can get it to the parts store if necessary. I am hoping that the batteries will come back to life after some good long driving, if not, NAPA here we come.

7628. I may need some help getting my hauler loaded.
if you can schedule the pickup for a day I am there I would be happy to test out my winch to load your truck. Or whatever you need help with. My tentative plan is to leave my home the night of the 1st and to be in LA the morning of the 2nd to begin my trip home. If anyone else wants to coordinate give me a call.
