I have a comercial account with Sunbelt Rentals. The last one I moved, the folks at Ft Meade picked up and placed on the 16' flatbed trailer, rear facing the tow vehicle.

If you don't load this way the towing trailer won't have any tongue weight. The bolster tires are on the rails, so make sure that it's bound down tight and check again before you get onto I-95.

Need any parts?

No, but a bolster trailer just the same (albeit an early version) and an example of how the truck bolster trailer combination is deployed in use. I saw some current Army "work boats" with pusher bumpers up front that were mounted on frames that were set up for hauling on bolster trailers. Not sure if the intended trailer was a M769, but again a bolster trailer application. Bolster trailers are usable for so much more than just hauling poles.

Thanks nonotagain for info i'll lookup sunbelt whenever bc ok's my euc 35 days and counting.
Once approved, give Justin Miller at Meade a call and schedule an early morning pick-up. A lot less traffic to deal with if you get there early.

Ft Meade requires all commercial vehicles and people towing trailers to use the truck entrance off of Rt 198. The first time in it's very confusing where to turn into to get into the inspection area. They will go thru your vehicle with a fine tooth comb, so make sure that you don't have any prohibited items.

Tolls are going to be a killer coming down from the Philly area. Delaware is $7 each way, Md at the Susquehanna only charges in the north direction, but it's $23, however the tunnels south of Baltimore get $9 each direction.

Watch your speed south of Rt.43 in Maryland as just south of 695 they use speed cameras in the work zone. They make a small fortune off those cameras.

Bring lots of cash.

Does the M796 use a tandem bogie-axle setup like the Deuce? And is the lug pattern the same as the Deuce?

On an unrelated note, are the M105A2 axles the same as the M105A3 axles, except for the method of brake activation? Or is there a dimensional/technical difference between the A2&A3 axles?

Sorry for so many questions. I assure you there's a method to the madness.

Thanks. That settles it then. My tandem-axle camping trailer will have to use a Deuce rear suspension. I want tandem axles for stability & payload for a dedicated RV converted trailer. And I want to carry common spare tires.

This was originally a slide-in camper project. But I've decided to do a dedicated trailer instead. That way I can just hook it up & go.

Any of the Bobbers out there reading this have extra M105A3 axles leftover from the Bob job? I just need one. Springs & hangers are not necessary. It has to be the A3 axle since that's the trailer I have.

I need a bolster trailer too. They seem to be pretty handy.
But I need one here in central Fl cause I dont ever have time to run and pick anything up.
