If I bring a replacement passanger window for my deuce to the rally is there anyone who knows what they are doing that can help me install it to replace my government cracked glass?
Do you have a replacement window in the frame, or just the glass?

If it's already in the frame, that's easy to do, shouldn't be a problem. Bring your new window, some grease for the window regulator while we're in there, and some silicone spray for the window channels.

I have the glass in the steel frame. I took it out of a parts truck. My focus was getting it out as quikly as possible before it was sent to the scrapper this week while not paying that close of attention on how to put it back in. I can bring the grease and silicone spray if someone can help me change it out. Thanks

Speaking of glass...I have a BIG box of raw window glass that I will be bringing with me.....it is laminated safety glass and can be cut to fit side or front windows. I got it from GL so I am 99% sure it is the same glass that was used by Third Shop maintainence units to replace vehicle glass.

Most of them had a "Glass and Canvas" repair shop.

Maybe we can have a glass repair siminar during the rally.

Bring it but I would suggest a call to Saturn to get some new Jesus clips for the bottom.

Who is talking about cutting glass? Mine is in the frame out of another truck and I just need to mount it in my door.

The cutting glass issue was a result of my post about the ton of glass I have (literally) and need to sell.

As I understand it this glass can be cut easily once you know the correct way....which is to take it to your local glass company and let them do it right. My place only charges a few bucks and they dress the cuts to keep them from being sharp.

Not to be hyper critical but isn't that like going to the local Piggly Wiggly to purchase a steak and taking it to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse to have it cooked?

Well, it looks like I have acquired enough free fuel to make the trip this year. I've had the time off of work for a long time now. I was just waiting to see if I could get the fuel. If I had to buy fuel, I couldn't afford the trip this year, but with free used oil I'm good to go.

I'm planning to drag along the ENG3 lube/MEP-003 generator trailer for power at the rally site. Can't wait to get there and have some fun!!!

I plan on dragging the trailer mounted MEP-003a with me. It's still not done the way I want it, but I haven't gotten all the stuff for it yet either.

Anyway, if you want to find out what people will want for power needs feel free and let me know. As of right now, I have a bunch of 120v receptacles and a breaker panel mounted to a board in the back of the trailer. I only have 120v outlets because there about 30 different 240 volt configurations out there and I can't possibly think of what various people may want or need. If anybody needs 240 volts have them bring there own power cord and a receptacle to match there plug, and I'll have extra cord with me to make up 240 volt hook-ups if needed using their receptacle.

Also, I'll be bringing some jerry cans of diesel for the generator, but any fuel donations would be greatly appreciated. Even though it's mounted in the trailer enclosure it's still kind of loud (not loud enough to keep me from sleeping) so if you think it's too loud we can shut it down at night. Or if you think it's ok, it can run all night too, it makes no difference to me. I just don't know how Durhamtown and the rest of the people will feel about it.

OK folks, I just got the following PM from a member who is coming to the rally. It looks like electrical needs shouldn't be an issue for us, but if you partake in getting some sparky stuff from him, please make sure to donate a few gallons of diesel fuel as a gift in return for him dragging this thing 400+ miles behind a deuce to the rally and then letting all of us run it.

Things are looking up! Not long to go now........... what, 6 weeks?

Can't wait to see everybody. :D

Just wondering if we have a ruff head count? I plan to be there several days and it looks like my wife and daughter will be there for a day or two. I am pressuring my brother to come down too with his two boys. I am even "inviting" my scout troop. It is doubtful those wienies will make it.

I still hope to drive the M813 with the M886 in tow and set up a camp site for all my relatives. I have reserved one of the little cabins for a bathroom with water. Not expecting much else so I won't be disappointed.

One foolish question? I have a 16mm surplus projector (that's right, it's green) and I have two episodes of "Rat patrol". Does anybody think that would be cool to bring and watch? I had it at a scout camp out a few months back and the boys hated it. Rat patrol is cheesy so the only real fun is flashing back to those 16mm films from our childhood. It is heavy and awkward so it won't hurt my feelings if no one wants to see it. It can't compare to a DVD and projector.

Joe.....BRING IT ON MAN.....we used to watch 16 MM films out in the field all the time.

Maybe we can even find some more 16 MM flicks and have a film feature every night.....how about some old Hygine training films like "How to avoid social diseses".

We could hang a white sheet on the side of my big van for a screen.

This rally just gets better and better.:grin::grin:
