Well, I got serious about bidding on a MEP. Was looking for whats close. SO, decided to bid on some of the stuff out of Ft. Meade today.

Two MEP-002A on trailers with canvas and only 2.x hours. Had to double check a couple times to make sure it wasn't the same picture. Well one went for $647, the other for $547. Decided that, being 4:50'ish PM, I would bid on the one with 850 hours. It was like 385 at that point. So put down my max bid.

Put a couple smaller bids on some other ones with higher hours that wouldn't be bad to own. At this point I am currently winning on four gennys. MAN I don't need for gennys. ****, I don't REALLY need ONE.

So, as I expected, the one with 850 gets sniped at just after 5. Still am high bidder and that is the one I want. The others are also coming under fire.

SOOOOO, one minute to go and I win this one.:jumpin:

Page refreshes, and it gone. Scroll down and see that I am still winning but now it is another 15 minutes.:mad:

Can't really afford to bid on the others, don't want to win a bunch of 'em. So there I sit, winning the one I want, watch the others end. Not saying if I bid I would have won them, but I couldn't risk being stupid.

SO, the one with 850 hours sells for $647. More than the one with only two hours.:x

Man, it was exciting and exasperating at the same time. I can see why people get addicted to gambling.

I just trust that the good lord has a plan for me.:-|

[edit: No, I didn't win anything this time. Just venting a little. I will be bidding again]

After I bought my deuce and got it home. I was looking around and thought a trailer would look good behind my truck. Bid on one and won it. Oh crap, how do I explain it to the wife. Time went on and I bought another trailer that I pick up next week. Told her I only needed the tires and a tail light off the trailer and I was going to scrap it and break even. I sure hope that happers or I will be sleeping in the back of the deuce. I NEED HELP...aua

Yup that is how it goes. You bid 4 or 5 lots, hoping to win one. You're winning until the last 5 minutes. Then everyone jumps in and drives the auction into overtime. Then, you watch the items close while you try for one. The later it gets, the higher things get. You end up paying much more for the same item.

You want to bid toward the end but not too late. About 4:30 is a good time. After a item goes into overtime, the price almost always goes higher than the ones that have already closed.

If it's something for resale, the procedure is easy.

I bid a certain percentage (minus tax, GL fee, and fuel to go get it) of what I think I can sell it for and then forget about it.

Many times have I said right after I hit the submit button, "Oh Lord what have I done"! :shock::shock:
Yup, know that feeling. It is a bit of a rush.

BUT, what happens if I win 3? Don't want to be like that Newbie with 2 posts asking someone for money to help pay for the extras. {Saw that thread awhile back}

I think that is exactly what happened. Bid to late and found myself wearing flourescent orange camo.:-(

Know better for next time. AND THERE WILL BE A NEXT TIME!!!!!!
{Oh lord, please let my wife forgive me.:twisted:}
