Filter after / before pump...

Hi All!

My original filter assembly is bypassed since long on my m1009 and now theres only 1 in-line filter keeping the crap from the engine...

I have an electrical pump fitted on the hoses to pump the fuel to the engine.

Now to the question, il be adding a new filter assembly from a big volvo truck, that has dual spin-on filters that are dirt cheap.

Should i mount this before the electrical pump or after?

Also been reading up on how to get the air out of the system after the new filter installs.... From what i have understood its just to keep cranking the engine and it should vent all the air out itself?

Down on the fender just below where the first batterytray would be if you have the original trays :p
my m1009 has been torn apart modified and had alot of stuff replaced from a k10 blazer..

The factory location for an electric pump used on a later model civilian truck would be on the frame just below the driver area. The closer to the fuel tank the better when using an electric pump. It's easier to push the fuel than to draw it from the tank.

Okay,

any tip on venting the air out ?
I'd leave the outlet of the filter assembly open, then supply 12 volts to the pump until the air is pumped out. I'd also put a clear piece of tubing at the short return line at the injection pump to help diagnose any air problems. With the clear line you'll be able to see if air, fuel or a combination of both are returning from your pump if you run into any problems.
