Rolling in Park

This has me stumped. My blazer rolls when it is in park and jumps from park to reverse after starting. When moving shifter to drive it feels loose. Any ideas???

Could be your parking pawl, device that hold s your trans in park position.
CUCV'S WITH turbo had thiis while the HMMVS with the turbo did not. It is
possible someone has replace your trans and lert parking pawl out.

Sounds like u Just need to adjust the shifter rod easy to do from under the truck

Start with the adjustment. It might be a good idea to pull the linkage all the way off. That way you can cycle the transmission through the gears and put it all the way in park where the detent centers it in park. Get out from under the truck and try pushing it. If it works like it should, then you can adjust and install the linkage.

If you loosen the linkage enough, you should be able to do this without removal. I suggested removal so you don't get it just enough adjusted and leave it. That will just have you back down there in a few weeks doing the same thing.

Did you get it this way or has this just started! Check the bushing in the pivote for the shift rod will have to take one end loose to get it off and there will be a sping on it as well. If the bushing breaks and comes out sometimes will not let it go into park. Befor I go adjusting , if it has worked before and its not loose so adjustment has moved then I would look at what broke, bent, or has seen better days. Not knowing if you got it this way or has just started to do this makes a dif. on how you should look at it , Adjusting the linkage for a worn part will just help for a short time And yes always chock the wheels we want to know what you find! not who finds you
